My first time doing #yarnbraids …and they came out FAB! #naturalhair #teamnatural

Yarn braids are a nice #protectivestyle and or #transitioning hair style to try when you want to:
-grow your hair out
-see what you might look like with #locs before taking that step
-give your hair a break
-wear long braids w/o the worry of the weight of the hair
-not be bothered with styling your hair

In my first time doing them, I found that the process of doing yarn braids are just like doing box braids w/ add’l hair, except w/ yarn. The braids are a lot lighter, so they strain less on the neck. Though they are braids, they liok a lot like locs from afar, which i think is fly; have the best of both worlds! Also, because it’s yarn, the wear and tear on your fingers is significantly less than when braiding w/ kanekelon hair.

My client (pictured above) is a rock singer, Sharina Louise, in the band Blak Wav (http://bit.ly/KoJ1My) and wanted to put a lil funk on her look. So we opted for blue & pink tones in the front for fun :) *love it*
